My Great Aunt died last week, she was the twin sister of my Nan who died 10 years ago. According to my Employment Handbook I am entitled to 2 days compassionate leave, so on Thursday next week I am venturing out of SketchWeasel Towers and trusting my luck and life to the public transport system of great Britain.
Hmmm... she ponders ... I don't like trains much .. coach is 5 hours of chucking up ...
So the lesser of the two evils is let the train take the strain. I have to change train four times to get me within 10 miles of my final destination in Kent, that and tackle the ruddy London underground .. this does not please me .. everytime I have travelled on the tube some poor bastard has decided that that's the train he's jumping under. When I have finally made it dishevelled and distraught to the station of choice, I then have to catch another bloody train and then buggery bolloxs a bus. Only then after 6 hours of travel will I reach my parents home in the heart of Kent. I could drive it faster ... but then I don't drive so it's not really an option is it?
I came across this quote in Prydwen's blog earlier and thought I'd share it with people who may have missed it.
8. My sister passed away and her funeral was scheduled for Monday. When I told my Boss, he said she died on purpose so I would have to miss work on the busiest day of the year. He then asked if we could change her burial to Friday. He said, "That would be better for me."

Hmm... I felt a bit like that today when told that I could only have 2 days compassionate leave. Thankfully on Thursdays I'm given a seven hour rest period, when I can start my journey and then I have to be back on duty at the latest by 4pm on Saturday.....
Anyway Mr SketchWeasel is calling - so I guess it must be time to hit the sack ..
Blessed Be All xx
